"Wow! That's  amazing! I'm so happy! And I spent all that money on surgery and it didn't work as well."  -Joann 9/7/18.

What is the PDO Thread Lift?

It lifts cheeks and eliminates jowls.
The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment which lifts and tightens sagging skin tissue, using threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO). The threads are introduced into the deeper layers of the skin, mechanically by fine gauge needles. Once introduced, the threads produce 3 effects in the skin:
  • Instant Skin Lifting through mechanical effects
  • Cellular Renewal, through Collagen stimulation, and neo-vascularization to improve skin texture, fine lines and elasticity
  • Skin Tightening, by contracting fat tissue
About 6 months after the procedure, the PDO threads will disappear through simple hydrolysis (they are absorbable). The lifted facial contours will remain for about 3-6 months more, due to the cellular rejuvenation effects. Your skin cells are stimulated to produce new collagen, and new blood vessels to improve skin micro circulation. At the same time, the PDO threads cause the fat tissue to contract, producing a skin tightening and facial slimming effect.
What Areas Can Be Treated with PDO Thread Lift?
The PDO thread lift is very versatile, allowing practically all areas of the face to be treated, including the:
  • Crow’s feet (wrinkles around eyes)
  • Labial folds
  • Wrinkles around mouth
  • Jaw line
  • Jowls
  • Neck
What Results Can I Expect After The Treatment? How Long Do They Last?
Your skin is immediately lifted after a PDO thread lifting procedure, as the threads provide support to lift skin in its new position. You may look slightly tighter than the final result, but in about 1 week, you will begin to look much more natural.
The rejuvenative effects kick in after 1-2 months – you will notice better skin texture, firmer and smoother skin. Your practitioner may concentrate more on either skin rejuvenation, or skin lifting during your procedure. Depending on the technique and which is used, the results will vary from person to person.
In about 9 months after the treatment, the threads would have dissolved, but the results will continue for many more months. I recommend repeating the procedure 6-9 months after the first procedure, to allow for a long lasting result of up to 3 years.
Who is Suitable For a PDO Thread Lift?
The PDO Thread Lift is an effective non-surgical face lifting treatment that is suitable for anyone looking to improve the appearance of sagging skin. This treatment is suitable for someone who is willing to undergo some injections, and who want to attain an immediate lift of the facial contours without undergoing a facelift surgery. It is best suited for men and women who are unwilling to tolerate the long downtime of a facelift surgery but want to look refresh and lifted – naturally. My recommendation is for minimal to moderate sagging of facial skin.
Is PDO Thread Lift Safe? What are the Possible Side Effects?
This treatment is surprisingly safe. Compared to fillers, the side effects are, in fact, much milder. (Because PDO threads are inserted via needles and not surgery, and are absorbed in 6-8 months, many of the side effects associated with older thread lifting procedures, such as infection and thread breakage are also minimized.)
Expect some mild swelling, bruising and soreness for 3 to 5 days after the procedure, and a sensation of tightness (mild) of up to 2 weeks. Temporary mild dimpling of the skin can also occur – and resolves in a few days.
Some side effects are related to the technique of insertion, and the types of threads used. These include surface depressions, thread migration and even extrusion, facial asymmetry, prolonged pain, and prolonged dimpling. PDO threads are not created equal – and your medical professional’s training in the procedure is also extremely important in ensuring a good outcome with minimal side effects from your procedure.
Finally, more serious side effects, though rare, can occur. These include infection, nerve damage, formation of nodules, and damage to the salivary ducts. The face has a very complex anatomical structure. Intimate anatomical knowledge is required to perform a PDO thread lift well, and to avoid serious side effects.

Treatment with Dermal Fillers can smooth out folds and wrinkles, add volume to the lips, and contour facial features that have lost their fullness due to aging, sun exposure, weight loss, or illness, etc.

Facial rejuvenation can be carried out with safely and with minimal complications. This procedure may involve using one to several syringes depending on the product and/or the depth of the wrinkles/folds.
An anesthetic numbing medicine used to reduce the discomfort of the injection, may or may not be used. These Dermal Fillers are injected into the skin with a very fine needle. The products produce a natural volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. Often multiple injections are needed to achieve the best correction and the results can often be seen immediately. Since these filling agents are considered temporary, periodic touch-up injections are necessary to help sustain the desired level of correction. Studies have shown, if a full correction (enough product is used) initially, and periodic touch up treatments (maintenance) are done, a synergistic effect occurs stimulating the body’s own response to produce collagen, which “may” prolong the results of the correction and “possibly” less product will be needed at future treatments.
All medical and cosmetic procedures carry risks and possible complications. You have a right to be informed about your condition, the treatment, and possible complication so that you may decide whether or not to undergo the procedure after knowing the risks and hazards involved.  This disclosure is not meant to alarm you; it is simply an effort to make you better informed so you may give, or withhold, your consent for the treatment you are requesting.

Risks include but are not limited to:  1) Commonly, post treatment discomfort, swelling, redness, lumpiness, and bruising which generally subside within a few hours to days (bruising may last up to 2 weeks depending on the patient’s healing mechanism).
Less common side effects are: 2) Post Treatment Itching and discoloration of light blue hue under skin associated w/hyaluronic acids 3) Post treatment infection associated with any transcutaneous injection  4) Reactivation of Herpes (cold sores)  5) Localized Necrosis and/or sloughing, with scab and/or without scab if blood vessel occlusion occurs.  6) Failure to achieve desired result.
Rare Complications: 7) Allergic Reactions    8) *Keloid formation/ hypertrophic scarring **(dermal filler treatments are not indicated in individuals who are susceptible to hyper keloid formation).***
Some patients may experience additional swelling or tenderness at the injection site and in rare occasions, pustules might form. These reactions might last for as long as approximately 2 weeks, and in appropriate cases may need to be treated with oral corticosteroids or other therapy.
If you are considering laser treatment, chemical skin peeling or any other procedure based on a skin response after your dermal filler treatment, or you have recently had such treatments and the skin has not healed completely, there is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the implant site.
Hyaluronic Acids have been shown to be safe and effective when compared to collagen skin implants and related products to fill in wrinkles, lines and folds in the skin on the face. Its effect, once the optimal location and pattern of cosmetic use is established, can last 4-6 months or longer without the need for re-administration
#PRP Microneedling

How does micro needling work?

Initially, your blood will be drawn by a medical professional, and placed in a centrifuge, where it is separated into red blood cells and plasma. Plasma is the clear serum in the blood and it contains growth factors that stimulate regrowth of connective tissue. It is used in other medical modalities, but for facials, it stimulates collagen and elastin fibers.

Then, a small series of 20 fine, short needles are passed over the skin of the face, making micro perforations in the skin.  There is no damage or removal to the epidermal layer. The post traumatic response of the skin is to produce collagen and elastin. And since there is no damage to the existing collagen or elastin, it adds to what is there, causing an increase.

Does it hurt? It feels like a sunburn. The redness will resolve in  24- 48 hours. At this time, you may Not use makeup on your skin. You will be given a home care kit containing serums to apply. This may contain your blood plasma.  These will be more effective, since your skin is microperforated.

What are the benefits?
Increased elasticity, facilitates higher product concentrations of serums, can lighten pigment with the appropriate serum, decreases wrinkles and frown lines, increases skin moisture, reduces
eye bags and dark circles, scars, acne scars, stretch marks, cellulite, local fat excess,  (when used on tummy or buttocks) reduces pore size, and can even increase hair production when used on the scalp.
